Selecting Steers with Mack, A Navy SEAL veteran turned Florida Cattleman
Ever wonder how professional ranchers select the best cattle for premium beef? In this video, Mack Chiles, owner of Chiles Ranch & Palm Cattle Company, saddles up to select the next group of steers for his customers. Learn exactly what to look for when evaluating finished cattle.

Mack breaks down structural soundness, muscle development, frame size, body condition score, and overall performance potential. Discover how Mack learned from the best ranchers in his area and they passed down their years of experience to help Mack identify the animals most likely to produce the BEST Chiles Ranch Beef.
Mack's journey to agriculture is anything but ordinary. After serving as a breacher and assaulter in the U.S. Navy SEAL teams, he transitioned out of military service early due to injuries incurred in the line of duty. Unable to find a job during the COVID-19 pandemic he turned in an unlikely way to "entrepreneurship" by repurposing old belts from thrift stores into dog collars which eventually lead to the formation of Macks Belts a company he still runs to this day!
When he learned that America needed more beef producers and ranchers he went all in to feed America and serve once again and became a first-generation Florida Cattleman in Dixie County, Florida.

Today, Mack and his wife, Spenser, lead Chiles Ranch and Palm Cattle Company. Their mission is to produce premium, sustainable American-raised beef, support Florida agriculture, and steward the land for future generations.

Whether you're a cattle producer, beef enthusiast, or curious about where your food comes from, this behind-the-scenes look offers valuable insight into cattle management long before it reaches your table.
